His clownish pajamas are not just for self-defense; they are the final seal he stitched for himself after glimpsing the cruel script of the world. He thought that by wearing the meek mask of a sheep, he could pretend to be ignorant. Little did he know that his extremely sharp perception would split his own soul into seven completely different parts: proud judgment, cold logic, raging destruction, pompous disguise, naive empathy, illusory dreams, and flight by old conventions.
